Leeds is one of 9 host cities for World Triathlon 2019, returning to the city for the fourth consecutive year. It brings together thousands of amateurs with elite triathletes to swim, cycle and run – with an estimated 70,000+ spectators in 2018.

Word gets around

Leeds has been named among the best cities for foreign investment, bucking the trend in the UK and EU. For further perspective, the city attracted £108.8m venture capital for digital during 2018 – compared to Manchester's £59.5m – while the likes of Channel 4, and others, will soon be trumpeting Leeds qualities at London Tech Week.

Leeds Museums and Galleries showcases community-led work to international delegation.

Leeds' success have also caught the attention of German museum officials, while retired Dortmund police officers have also enjoyed the city's sights.

Data demystified

Leeds now has 605 trained digital champions – helping a variety of people, for example those with hearing impairments.

This week they've been sharing their expertise with services countrywide and in this podcast. Know someone who'd benefit from this? Please point them towards Leeds libraries' Get Connected events in June.

At your (health) service

Extended hours, on evenings and weekends, are now available to see your GP. In return, health chiefs want public input on medication combatting heart attacks and strokes, as well as from 14–19 year olds, to develop children's health services
